Dr Valeriya Casey is a Prosthodontist with an interest in maxillofacial prosthodontics, empathetic patient care, and education, all of which drive her professional clinical and research pursuits.

Originally from Moscow, Russia, Dr. Casey obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree from the First Moscow State Medical University, specialising in general surgery with a focus on maxillofacial and reconstructive surgery. After relocating to Australia in 2013, she pursued a Master of Biomedical Sciences degree at James Cook University, gaining research experience in contemporary physiology and neuropharmacology. Dr. Casey graduated from the University of Sydney with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2017, and a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Prosthodontics) in 2023.

Dr Casey’s academic awards include the Gold Medal of Excellence for Academic Success (General Surgery Division) from FMSMU in 2013, the Sancta Sophia Principal’s Award for Academic Achievements from the University of Sydney in 2014 and 2016, and the Brigadier Gordon Rowell Prize in 2018. She also successfully completed the RACDS Primary Examination with five commendations in 2021.

Outside of work, she enjoys weightlifting, academic dressage, and spending time with her cat, Able Seaman Hagrid.
